I got dressed, threw a couple of last things in my travel luggage and prepared to begin the day. Not just was the other day my last day in Vava'u, but it was also the very first day of the Class 6 exam. The Class 6 students soon showed up and I was met with lots of remarks about how it was my last day, that the students would miss me and how they wished to make certain I would come back to see.
Then it was time to line the kids up to begin the evaluation and I went down the line, providing them high fives and huge hugs and wanting them good luck. When they started the assessment, breakfast was brought by some local people for all of the instructors who were not proctoring. We consumed and sat tea and consumed fresh coconut and pie.
The next few days will include language and medical tests, logistical documentation to sign, a training session with the incoming Peace Corps group, and a long time with good friends right here on the main island. I'll compose more in my next post.
Day 14: I like how sluggish and peaceful Sundays in Tonga are. I have actually currently talked about the fact that there are just three choices on Sundays: consume, sleep, church.
